Edrei Hutson, an award-winning filmmaker, grew up a military brat. After living all over the world, she settled down in Austin, Texas for her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas. After graduation, she moved to Philadelphia where she began to write. This passion eventually led her to Los Angeles to pursue her MFA in Filmmaking.
Producer, Writer, Director, Edrei Hutson, graduated from New York Film Academy with an MFA in Filmmaking. Since then, she has gone to help produce more than 300 hours of New Media content with Disney Digital. She helped produce a scripted television show under Lifetime Movie Network. She worked with Laundry Service and Cycle producing social media commercials for clients such as Beats by Dre, Nike, House of Hoops, and LA 2028. Until recently, Edrei worked as a Producer, creating 90 minutes of content a month for Solve, the number one rated show on Snapchat.
Edrei has written, directed, and produced several short films. Her short film, SISTERS, won 2nd place at the Capital City Black Film Festival and Best Original Screenplay at the Culture and Diversity Film Festival. In 2017, she was accepted into the Producer’s Guild of America.
As a writer, Edrei’s focus is on creating diverse content and smart, inspired films that empower.
